Timothy Kent Gallery in Downtown Bloomington will host an exhibit of paintings by Bloomington artist James Pratt with an opening reception on Saturday March 17 from 4 - 8 pm. Famous Wine and Spirits will be offering a wine tasting and Reality Bites will provide hors d'ouevres.

James Pratt was born in Wellington, New Zealand. He and his wife Beverly now live in Bloomington as well as spending time at their home in Southern France. Mr. Pratt will show artwork created from his travels in Europe as well as some abstract work. He is a palette knife artist (no brushes) and mixes his own colors, using only the three primary colors of red, blue and yellow.

Mr. Pratt conducts special painting demonstrations and sells his work on Princess Cruises around the world. He has just returned from Abu Dhabi, where he participated in the charity auction "International Fine Arts of Abu Dhabi" to raise funds for future development of art and culture in the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Pratt's work hangs in private and public collections throughout the United States, the UK, France, Australia and New Zealand.

The artwork will be on display until April 28.
